Further Training and Taking the Full D.O.T. Motorcycle Test

Goldstar Motorcycle Training offers a full range of courses and machines to help you attain this final goal.

All learners are now required to take and pass a motorcycle theory test prior to undertaking the full motorcycle/moped theory test. We will be pleased to advise you on how to book and study for this.

If you are between 17 and 21 you can only train for and take the Category A2 test on a 125cc machine.

After completing this test successfully you are then by law restricted to a motorcycle with a maximum of 33bhp (25KW) for 2 years at the end of which you automatically gain full unrestricted access.

If you reach the age of 21 within the 2 years you can opt to take a further Category A test on a minimum 47bhp (35KW) machine. Pass the test and you can then ride any bike. This is called accelerated access.
